THE BRIEF
The family wanted to fit a lot into a small garden, the brief was to create a useable dining area next to the house and maintain some of the existing planting. A play area for the boys was required as well as a space for the trampoline that could potentially be turned into flower beds in the future.
We created a fun rustic den was built out of a recycled telegraph pole and logs for the boys built around an existing apple tree, space for the trampoline was at the rear of the garden. A terrace was created at an angle next to the house in a light stone paving with a raised bed to create a sense of enclosure. The much loved contorted willow was under planted with shade loving plants for texture and interest and rustic den was built out of a recycled telegraph pole and logs.
"The new area reflected light into the house and encouraged us to sit outside as often as we could as well as making the house feel bigger! We loved the wildlife friendly planting and the green roof on the bin store. The boys den was an instant hit!" DS
